Privacy Policy

Tierly (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides infrastructure for creators to build and manage their own independent websites under their own domain names.  This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Use, and describes how we collect, use, and share information.

Who We Are

Tierly is a New Zealand-based company that offers a platform for creators to manage content, subscriptions, and audiences through custom-branded websites. While we host the technology, each creator is responsible for the content and activity on their own site.

Subscribers

A subscriber is any user who purchases content, subscribes to a membership, or engages in a transaction on a site hosted by Tierly — whether directly through Tierly’s core platform or through a creator’s custom-branded site powered by Tierly infrastructure.

Creators

A creator is an individual or business who creates a site through Tierly to offer memberships, subscriptions, or other content to subscribers who support their creations. Creators are responsible for managing the content, memberships, and all interactions with subscribers on their site.

Information You Provide Tierly

This is information that you provide to us through text fields, such as your name, payment information, and benefits. The information of this type that we require you to provide differs depending on whether you create an account, become a subscriber, purchase a subscription or other offering, otherwise engage with a creator, or become a creator, which can include:

You may also have the option to sign up for Tierly using a Facebook, Google, or Apple account. We will ask for permission to access basic information from your Facebook, Google, or Apple account, such as your userID, full name, email address, and profile picture. You can choose to stop sharing that information with us at any time by going to Facebook, Google, or Apple to remove Tierly’s access to that account and your ability to use it to log in to Tierly. In order to use an account with one of these companies to sign up for Tierly, these companies may require you to share personal data with them, including information about your usage of Tierly. As applicable to you, please consult the Facebook, Google, and Apple privacy policies to learn more about that.

You may also have the option to add more information to your public profile, such as a location, social media links, and an about section, which we store along with the other information that we collect.

Payment Information

Tierly does not store your full payment details such as credit or debit card numbers. Instead, we store limited identifiers such as your Stripe Customer ID and Subscription ID to manage your access to subscription content and maintain billing status. These are securely passed and managed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe.

All payment transactions are handled by Stripe or other trusted third-party payment partners. When you make a payment, your information is submitted directly to the payment partner. Please refer to the Stripe Privacy Policy or any other applicable provider’s policy for more details on how your data is handled.

If your selected payment partner collects additional details — such as your name or email — this data may be shared with Tierly to help us fulfill your purchase, communicate with you about your subscription, and provide technical support if necessary.

Subscription and Support Data

We track the creators you subscribe to and the specific offerings or memberships you purchase, including any digital benefits associated with those purchases. If a creator offers physical benefits (such as merchandise or printed materials), you may be asked to optionally provide shipping information, which may include your name, address, and phone number. This information will be shared with the creator solely for the purpose of delivering those benefits.

To help determine tax applicability, fraud prevention, or comply with legal obligations, we may derive your location based on your country of residence, IP address, and/or payment method used.

Creating a Site

To become a creator on Tierly, you must set up a page that clearly describes the content you are creating and any benefits that subscribers may receive by purchasing a membership or supporting your work.

Payment Information:

To receive payouts, you must create an account with one of our trusted third-party payment partners, such as Stripe. If you choose to use a payment partner like PayPal or others, you may be required to provide additional personal data, including your name, email address, and/or payment details. These partners may provide certain information back to Tierly to facilitate your payout.

Tax Information:

As part of our legal obligations, we require creators to provide certain tax-related information for income reporting and compliance purposes. Depending on your location and the nature of your creations, the information you may need to provide includes:

Age Verification & Self-Identification

While we do not currently conduct full ID verification for creators, creators offering adult content or 18+ material must self-identify as such by selecting the appropriate checkbox during onboarding. By marking this checkbox, you affirm that you are over 18 years of age and comply with all legal requirements related to adult content in your jurisdiction.

Creators offering adult content must also ensure they comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws regarding the creation and distribution of such material. If your content involves adult themes, please be aware that we may need to request further verification if required by payment processors, regulatory authorities, or our internal policies.

Creator Responsibility

As a creator, you are solely responsible for ensuring that all content uploaded to your site complies with Tierly's Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and applicable laws. This includes verifying the age and consent of any individuals depicted in your content (if applicable) and ensuring that no illegal, harmful, or abusive material is uploaded.

Tierly provides the infrastructure to allow creators to publish content, but we are not the publisher of that content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our policies or legal obligations upon discovery or notification, which may include removing your site and/or suspending your account.

If you see content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy, including illegal, harmful, or inappropriate material, you are encouraged to report it immediately. This includes, but is not limited to: posts, comments, messages, or any other user-generated content across the platform.

Reports can be submitted directly to our moderation team at report@tierly.me. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. Violations may result in content removal and account suspension or termination, depending on the severity of the offense.

Additional Information We Collect

We collect minimal personal data, including:

We do not collect physical addresses, government IDs, or sensitive personal data unless explicitly required and disclosed (e.g. for legal compliance in future).

Messages and Comments on Tierly

When you send or receive messages or when you post or are mentioned in comments or messages on Tierly, we collect the contents of those messages and comments as well as information about related activity, including the timestamp of those messages and comments and who has viewed those messages or comments.

Information from Third-Party Accounts

After creating a Tierly account, you may be able to connect your social media account(s) (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch) with Tierly and we may collect and store some information related to those accounts, including:

You may also grant Tierly access to these third-party accounts in order for some Tierly features to operate. When you connect such a third-party account to your Tierly account, that third-party service will typically present a page that describes the information that Tierly can access and/or permissions you are granting to Tierly to take actions on your behalf. At any time, you may be able to revoke Tierly’s access to those accounts using the respective third party’s settings page (e.g. here for Google).

Promotions

Tierly may operate certain promotions from Tierly-operated accounts on third party platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Personal data collected by Tierly as part of such promotions will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Adult Content and Age Verification

If you are a creator or subscriber engaging with adult content (i.e., content that includes nudity or sexually explicit material), Tierly may require additional information for age verification and content compliance purposes. Creators offering adult content are responsible for ensuring they comply with all relevant laws, including obtaining consent from all individuals depicted in their content and ensuring that all content is legally compliant.

For creators, adult content self-identification will be requested during the account creation process through a checkbox confirming that you are over 18 years of age. If you are subscribing to or engaging with adult content, you may be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 to access certain materials.

We do not collect, process, or share more data than necessary for age verification and compliance. However, depending on the content you interact with, additional age verification steps may be required by our third-party payment processors, partners, or in response to regulatory requirements.

Tierly will take swift action to remove any content that violates our Terms of Service or applicable laws, including the permanent suspension of creators who engage in illegal activities or violate our content guidelines.

If you encounter content that violates these guidelines, you can report it directly to report@tierly.me.
